The TLSS is pleased to announce the creation of excellence awards celebrating innovation in the use of technology for teaching and learning at the university level. These awards are an extension of a number of projects aligned with “Destination 2020” strategic plan, and more specifically with the Blended Learning Initiative.

The annual process for recognizing the University of Ottawa Researcher of the Year is under way.  If you know a teaching staff member whom you consider to have earned distinction for herself or himself and for the University as a result of the importance and exceptional characteristics of her or his research work, please consult our website at for details on how to make a nomination.

This year, the deadline for submitting nominations to the dean is 14 November 2014.


To all APUO members,

APUO needs your assistance in alerting students to its bursary program.  To this end, i would greatly appreciate your communicating the following information to your students, in class, as soon as possible. Of course, your participation is strictly voluntary.

In 2013-2014, APUO will fund 70 awards of $1000 each.

To be eligible for the award, an applicant must:

  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Ottawa;
  • at the time of the application, have already completed one year of university studies, or the equivalent;
  • continue full-time studies at the University of Ottawa in the winter term following the application (i.e. winter 2014);
  • demonstrate financial need and academic merit.
